How To Get Guest Bloggers For Free
ByGetting guest bloggers is a great way to diversify your blog posts and also get fresh content for your blog (especially nice when you’re running a bit dry of blogging ideas.) One of the few Internet Marketer blogs I subscribe to is Lynn Terry. I get a lot of great ideas reading her blog.
The latest idea I got from her was on a new way to get guest bloggers for free. Her post talks about a new site called My Blog Guest.
Here’s the link: http://myblogguest.com/
And here’s Lynn’s blog post on it. She also shows examples of some of the requests for bloggers.
This site is also a great way to find blogs that you can make guest blog posts on. That’s a great way to get your message out there on the Internet, get more coverage, and get more traffic to your website.
Another Free Guest Blogging Service
There’s also another service I subscribe to where you can offer to write guest blog posts or get guest blog posts for free. The service comes from Cathy Stucker. You get an email every day listing the people looking for guest blog posts and people offering to write them.
Here are the links from the email I got today:
Sign up for BloggerLinkUp at http://BloggerLinkUp.com/
Request Guest Posts: http://bloggerlinkup.com/guest-post-ask
Offer Guest Posts: http://bloggerlinkup.com/guest-post-offer
Request Sources for Interviews: http://bloggerlinkup.com/sources
Offer Products for Review: http://bloggerlinkup.com/review
Free Product Reviews
If you have a new product you’d like to get reviewed for free, this is also a great service for you. See the link just above this. I’ve gotten several reviews for my Small Business Marketing ebooks. I highly recommend subscribing to this service.
Why?
I got free reviews of three of my ebooks. You can read the reviews here:
Small Business Marketing: How to Dominate Your Competition Both Online and Offline.
Web Site Promotion: An Easy Step-by-Step Guide to Multiplying Targeted Traffic to Your Web Site.
Trust But Verify: How to Keep Your Search Engine Optimization Firm from Taking You To The Cleaners.

It is so important that people realize they don’t have to write all their blog’s posts themselves. (I, too, use BloggerLinkUp to find out who is interested in guest posts that I might want to write.)
When people believe they must write every post themselves, this often puts an unnecessary stumbling block in the way of having an active blog.
And when you do invite a guest blogger, you can be pleased that you are giving the guest blogger exposure to a new audience. It’s definitely a win-win situation.

Great point about it being a win-win situation Phyllis. It also goes back to the point I made in my post about Marketing Alliances. Marketing Alliances give you a ready made group of pre-approved people to create guest blog posts for you and that you can create guest blog posts for. But these other services like Blogger LinkUp gets you a more diversified pool of guest bloggers and blogs you can post on. Add to that using Linkvana and/or Text Links as a quick and easy way to post blog posts on other blogs and you have a huge diversity of opportunities to create lots of high quality backlinks to your website or blog.

Bob and Phyllis – I agree that featuring guest bloggers on your blog is a great way to diversify your content and add interest and readership! I think it is a win-win situation not only for the blogger, but also for the readers of the blog. Sometimes it is challenging to come up with new post ideas as all of us who write blogs know! I agree that Blogger LinkUp is a great service and Cathy Stucker does a wonderful job with it. As you both noted, the more active your blog is, the more traffic you will drive to your web site and that of guest bloggers.

Thanks for the reinforcement, Barb. There are two other services I subscribe to that are free. While they aren’t about guest blogging, they also are a great way to get free publicity. It’s Reporter Connection and Help A Reporter Out or HARO. Both of them send you emails of reporters looking for news sources and I’ve seen requests for just about every kind of business or industry between the two of them.
If you see a reporter looking for someone with experience or knowledge in an area you know, you can contact them and possibly get interviewed.
By the way, here’s the link to Blogger Linkup.
