An Innovative Approach to Selling on Facebook
By
Using Facebook to sell fresh baked goods might sound crazy but I have an acquaintance who started The April Fool Virtual Bakery and he is using Facebook for all of his sales and marekting. And people are hanging on his every word to learn about his next offering (fresh from the oven)!
The business he has started is a baking and cooking service. Essentially, every time he’s going to cook or bake something, he puts a notice out on his Facebook fan page to alert everyone what he’s making so they can put in their orders. Or he alerts them to what just came out of the oven so they can be the first caller to get them. And he home delivers it to your door.
Sound crazy? Not at all. He sells out everything he can make. And since he’s strictly local, the delivery costs are pretty low.
Since this is a fairly new business, the details may change over time but the idea itself seems quite sound. And he’s making money, which is the true test of any new business idea.

Thanks for sharing this story. It’s such a wonderful example of how people can use social media for local business — especially to create local raving fans.

Interesting method. There seems to be lots and lots of innovative ways to use social media in various ways to get business on the web. This works well to sell fresh baked goods.
Local businesses with freshly made items could cry out to their fans to come back again to buy.
