The Perfect Website is Like the Perfect Handshake
ByI was reading the book 20 Days To The Top by Brian Sullivan, the other day, and ran across his description of the perfect handshake. First, of course, he described the two worst handshakes. There’s the guy who “almost took my hand off”. It seems like he’s trying to intimidate you or force his will on you.
Then there’s the equally annoying handshake he described as “a handshake like a ten-cent pickled mackerel in brown paper.” (The quote was from American editor and writer William Allen White’s description of President Woodrow Wilson’s handshake. Who knew?)
The perfect handshake
So how did he describe “the perfect handshake”? It is the one that is barely noticed by the person whose hand you are shaking. And that’s exactly what the perfect website is like.
The perfect website
It is so natural, so easy, and guides the person right to the product or service they want so subtly, that they don’t even realize they are using the site until they’re pulling out their credit card or picking up the phone or filling out the contact form.
When you pull that off, my friend, you’ve created THE PERFECT WEBSITE.
