Having a Tough Time Finding the Right URL?
ByIt’s not as bad as it seems. A case in point is an idea I just had this past weekend to start a website to help local web copywriters get more work. I’m running into more copywriters who have figured out that websites have really bad writing on most of them and need the help of professionals.
Anyway, the point is, the first URL I checked out was webcopywriter.com. now obviously, I didn’t have much hope for that one and sure enough, it was taken. But most of the domain name regitrars will give you a list of suggested URLs that are available.
Since these are suggested by an automatic program, they are usually lame. But they can trigger ideas. The idea I got was simply adding MN for Minnesota to the end of the URL. So I checked websitecopywriterMN.com and it was available. I snatched it up.
If you have an idea for a URL and you believe it really is the right one for your business, and it’s already taken, don’t overlook simple additions like USA or MN to get the URL you want.
