Your Worst Day As A Business Owner…
By…Is Better Than Your Best Day As An Employee!
I just watched a video blog by Bob Parsons of GoDaddy.com. What a scoundrel! Ya gotta love him. And in spite of the pretty girls and the silly graphics, he does hand out some pretty good business advice.
His latest post is about finding your “edge.”
Essentially, it’s what the marketing world calls your “USP” or Unique Selling Proposition. What makes you “stand out” amongst all your competitiors? Or better yet, what do you do so much better than your competitors that people will flock to your doors?
Now this is something you should have established BEFORE you started your business. But it doesn’t mean you can’t “reconfigure” your business to create a USP.
Bob gave two “case studies” in his blog where he talked about his first two businesses. One was a copier leasing firm and the other was a software company. I highly recommend you watch his video blog because he really spells out what his “edge” or USP was for each of these firms and, more importantly, how he analyzed his competitors to find their flaws that he could take advantage of in creating his winning businesses.
Here’s the link to Bob Parson’s short and fun video blog post. http://www.bobparsons.me/Blog28.html?watch=1&wnow=1
