Drupal and Joomla template design just got a whole lot easier…
Posted by: | Comments
Drupal and Joomla template design seems to be an issue for a lot of the web designers I run into. Especially if they don’t have a strong graphic arts background. They usually seem to get stuck trying to work with an existing template and “force” it to work.
Not anymore. I just found a software that makes creating Joomla and Drupal themes easy. I mean “stupid” easy. I don’t even do web design and I’m excited about this thing.

Ebook Reader Amazon Kindle Review
Posted by: | Comments
Ebook reader Amazon Kindle has turned out to be a bigger asset than I expected. I actually just bought it so I could read books in bed or at the office or at my local Caribou Coffee shop without lugging a bunch of books around with me.
However, my Amazon Kindle had a slew of conveniences and abilities I didn’t expect from what I thought was just a simple ebook reader. Now that I’ve used it for a few months, you can get my perspective on the Amazon Kindle ebook reader…

Is Free or Open Source Software Any Good?
Posted by: | CommentsThat’s a tough question. After a few frustrating experiences, I wrote off all open source software as junk. My complaints were usually justified.
Updates were haphazard and the software often had little or no documentation (that a non-tech person could understand). If you had a problem there was no 800 number to call to get help, The user interface was usually horrible (something only a “code-writer” could love), and, frankly, I distrusted anything created by someone who was doing it for a hobby.
While there are still plenty of examples out there of open-source software created by people who have no concept of the meaning of the term “user-friendly”, there are a lot of free software packages out there that are surprisingly good. And the next step up into the paid-level is usually reasonable.

Sarah Palin Won Because She Didn’t Lose? Please!
Posted by: | CommentsI actually heard one of the University professor commentators on Public Television say that “Palin won because she didn’t lose.”
Certainly, Palin didn’t implode. I’m actually glad of it. Nobody wants to see this person make a fool of herself in the debate like she did in her Katie Couric interview.
However, the only time she impressed me was when she spoke from personal experience as the Governor of Alaska. She spoke in her own, confidant voice drawn from decisions she made as a leader.
