Social media marketing for business seems to most of my clients like networking at a rock concert. No one is doing business there.
And nothing could be further from the truth. Sites like MySpace have soured a lot of business people on the idea of social networks being a source of customers, clients or opportunities.
However, I’m finding that with a judicious use of time, keeping the “social” aspect in check, and keeping the pages professional and “business only,” you can get a lot of business through these sites.
Remember, if you go to any networking events or belong to groups like BNI, you’re already familiar with the idea of social networking for business. This is nothing more than an online version of the same thing, only it can be working for you 24/7/365.
I am going to create a series of blog posts listing best resources for each of the different social networking sites including MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, Merchant Cirlce, Naymz, Biznik and more. Read these blog posts and articles and you’ll be “ringing the register” in no time!
Follow this link and scroll down the page for a list of social media sites with a short description and links to the sites.
