This is the first installment of my Social Media Marketing for Business series. This one is on Facebook. Facebook is a good place to start. A lot of business people have been very successful turing Facebook into a contact and revenue generator.

Social media marketing for business seems to most of my clients like networking at a rock concert. No one is doing business there.

And nothing could be further from the truth. Sites like MySpace have soured a lot of business people on the idea of social networks being a source of customers, clients or opportunities.

However, I’m finding that with a judicious use of time, keeping the “social” aspect in check, and keeping the pages professional and “business only,” you can get a lot of business through these sites.
