Trust Small Business Over Big Business

Trust small business handshake Trusting small business over big business shouldn’t be a stretch for anyone. There are a number of good reasons:

  1. Resposibility - when you deal with a small business, there’s nowhere for them to hide. In most occasions, you either are dealing with the owner or are only one person away from the owner. The buck stops there.
  2. With big business, you are often many layers of people and management away from the owner if there even is an owner. We’ve seen plenty of examples in the media of large corporations committing all kinds of unethical acts and the government has spent billions just trying to figure out who to blame.

  3. Service - Anyone who has ever tried to get service from a large bank or insurance company or brokerage or…you get my drift. With a small company, you don’t have to go through 3 layers of supervisors to get service. If a small company doesn’t satisfy their customers and clients, they don’t stay in business. Period.
  4. Honesty - I’ve met many small business owners and they are the most scrupulous bunch of people I’ve ever met. They have to be. One whiff of shady practices and the news rips through the small business community like a wildfire. End of business.
